Let’s start planning for a drought ready Outback SA.

Drought has always been a part of South Australia’s outback region. Its low and highly variable rainfall has continually been a key driver of its diverse arid and semi-arid landscapes, industries and communities.

The resilience of the Outback SA’s communities, industries and environments explains why we have been able to get through the impacts of drought so many times before and continue to thrive.

It is essential that we maintain and enhance this resilience as our climate changes and the boom and bust of drought cycles change and become more unpredictable. We want to make sure we can manage drought even better than we have in the past and continue to adapt to the conditions that come our way.

That’s why we are planning for the dry by preparing the Outback SA Regional Drought Resilience Plan.

This program is jointly funded through the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the Government of South Australia.
